WAITSBURG - The Waitsburg Middle School "B" team finished their volleyball season, winning both matches last week.

The Lady Cardinals beat Dayton on October 16 with 25-18, 25-14, 6-15. They beat Touchet on October 18 with 25-17, 21-25, 25-22. In the first set against Touchet, Cardinal Kaitlyn Paul led her team to victory with multiple ace serves.

The "A" team played tough with close scores but dropped matches to Dayton and Touchet.

At Dayton, the team lost 25-27, won the second set 25-22, and dropped the third set 15-5.

The eighth graders played the season's last middle school volleyball game against Touchet in Waitsburg on October 18. Touchet took the first set 25-17, and Waitsburg came back to win the second set 25-21 before losing the third set 22-25.

The middle school coaches are sad the season is over. They are so proud of the girls and look forward to next year's season.

"The girls really did well. Many of the girls have never played the sport before," said Coach Savannah Castillo.
