At the Liberty: "Champions"

DAYTON—“Champions” is centered around a stubborn and hotheaded minor league basketball coach (Woody Harrelson) who is sentenced to community service and forced to coach a Special Olympics team, based on the 2018 Goya Award winning Spanish film “Campeones.”

Rotten Tomatoes critics gave this movie a 58% favorable rating, but 94% of the audience liked it. The audience summary for the movie was “Heartfelt and easy to root for, “Champions” is a slam dunk comedy with a great message.” It has been described as hilarious and heat warming. It is rated PG-13 for strong language and crude and sexual references. IMDb rates this movie as 6.8 out of 10, and its parent’s guide rates this movie as moderate for strong language, including a couple of F bombs. The other parent’s rating categories are considered mild or none. Runtime is 124 minutes.
