This movie is of particular interest to Downton Abbey fans. The original principal cast of Downton Abbey will all once again return for this second film. In addition to the original cast, Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye, and Dominic West will join the cast. A critic on said, “It should surprise no one to learn that Downton Abbey: A New Era includes a joyous wedding, an equally joyous marriage proposal, more than one health scare, news of an unexpected inheritance (the gold standard of Downton Abbey storylines), and the uncovering of a family secret …”.

Rotten Tomatoes critics give this movie an 85% favorable, and the audience rates it 97%. The summary of audience reviews from the Rotten Tomatoes website states that “A New Era serves up a proper cup of piping hot fan service that many fans will enjoy even more than the first Downton Abbey movie .”This movie is rated PG (some suggestive references, language, and thematic elements). It has a runtime of 2 hours and 4 minutes.
