Big yard sale fundraiser at Bruce House on Sept. 6

WHS is asking for community yard sale donations on Sept. 4 and 5.

WAITSBURG - The Waitsburg Historical Society is holding a yard sale on Saturday, September 6, from 8 am to 2 pm, to raise funds to cover operating costs for the WHS facilities, including the Bruce House Museum.

A successful yard sale depends on a wide range of housewares, tools, toys, clothes, art, and collectables. The WHS is asking the community to donate items for the sale. It is the perfect opportunity to clean our closets, garages, and shops and bring gently used items to the museum. Drop off donations on Thursday, September 4, and Friday, September 5, from 6 pm to 8 pm on the front lawn of the Bruce House on Main Street.

If you need help, call or text (509) 386-3739, and the WHS will schedule a pick-up at a time that works for you.

The yard sale will be on the front lawn of the Bruce House on Saturday, September 6. If you have been to previous historical society yard sales, you know there will be a wide variety of treasures to peruse and ice cream treats for sale.

The WHS maintains and manages two historic homes and the surrounding grounds. As a non-profit organization, they receive funds through donations and grants.

"We are grateful for all the donations we receive to cover the cost of insurance, maintenance, and repairs. But water damage to the ceiling, fence repairs, and painting will require more than membership dues can cover," said Deanna Tipton.
