The Wolfpack track and field team traveled to Cle Elum on Wednesday, May 18, to attend the 2B District 5 Championship. The top two boys and top three girls in each event advanced to the state track meet, which will take place May 26-28 at Eastern Washington University.

The young DW team did not have any members advance; however, four set PRs in their events. Alex Dahlby trimmed six seconds off his previous time in the 3200 meters. Tristan Rennaker improved his distance in the triple jump by about three feet. Marion Duncan knocked off a second in the 400 meters, and Kaydance Tiner threw the shot approximately three feet further.

Coach Nechodom stated that many athletes recognized that this was likely their last meet of the season. He said it was encouraging to watch many of them studying the competition, watching techniques, and finding ways to improve even at the end of the season.
