The owners of the new store in Starbuck are working hard to meet the needs of their customers. The store provides plenty of seating and offers deli and grocery items.

STARBUCK- Spinners Tackle, Grocery, and Deli is now open for business. Owners Mike and Jackie Lattimer, who hail from College Place, are especially grateful for the warm welcome they have received from locals.

People stop by frequently to thank them for opening a store in Starbuck, Mike said.

Jackie said that Erin Murphy, who works down the road at Columbia Straw Supply LLC, stopped by the store one day, and said she would design a logo for a sign, and for their business shirts, free of charge.

"She said she likes us," Jackie said about Murphy's kindness.

The Lattimers have been working out the logistics of opening the store since the first of the year.

"We've been wanting to do this for a long time," she said.

She is at the store full time while Mike continues working at his regular job with Amazon, helping out on his days off.

The store is aptly named.

Offerings include bait for salmon, walleye, sturgeon and bass, along with lures and sinkers, and everything else a fisherman would need.

Fishing and hunting licenses, and Discover Passes, are also available.

The grocery shelves and coolers have been stocked with eggs, milk, pop and beer, ice cream and a full array of snack items.

Breakfast in the deli includes burritos, sausage and scrambled eggs. Air frying means a healthier version of hot dogs, corndogs and chicken strips offered to customers.

Jackie said selections will change from day to day.

"We always try something different," she said.

The store opened on June 14, at 210 Main Street, across the street from Rebecca's Lodge Restaurant.

Hours of operation are 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. Mon. – Fri., and from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Sat., with variable hours on Sun., beginning at 7 a.m.
