PRESCOTT - Efforts by the Prescott School District, Parents and Teachers Organization, City of Prescott, and community members continue to work hard to save the Prescott schools. Creative fundraising ideas include the City of Prescott purchasing the school district's Teachers Cottage to relocate city hall, and the successful Brick Fundraiser.
Upcoming events include a Community Indoor Sale, featuring donated items. All proceeds will go to the school district's general fund. The sale will be at the Prescott school cafeteria on February 21 and 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Organizers are still asking for donations through February 18. You can message the Prescott School PTO on Facebook, text (509) 386-0403, or email prescottpto25@gmail.com to arrange donations.
Take advantage of the sale to find the perfect white or neon party outfit for the Let's Glow Dance Party, hosted by the PTO on March 21. Get into the night's theme by wearing white or neon to glow under black lights, or '90s-themed gear. The entry is just $5 per student or $15 per family, including drinks and snacks
The Prescott School PTO Gala, A Night for the Kids, is sold out. The event at the Foundry Vineyards on March 7, 2026, will feature a prime rib dinner catered by the Prescott Lions Club. There will also be a silent auction and paddle raise for diners to continue their generous support for the school district.
While there has been strong community support, saving the Prescott School District will require passage of the levy on the February 10 ballot and state assistance. State Senator Perry Dozier has requested $640,000 in state funding, about two-thirds of the resources the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) requires to keep the district operational.
The district is facing insolvency due to years of financial mismanagement. The deadline to keep the state from dissolving the Prescott School District is April 1.
Two ways to help students:
Support the student incentive program, the Tiger Store, with donations made through Amazon. The program rewards students for their hard work and positive behavior with their choice of store items. Every donation to keep the store stocked throughout the year, big or small, makes a big difference in showing students direct support and recognition.
There is also an Amazon page for items that will help make the Let's go Neon Dance Party one that the students will remember.
QR-code links for both Amazon pages are below.
