DW Overrun by Columbia, 56-6

DW can’t dig out of first-quarter hole during senior night game in Waitsburg

WAITSBURG—The Dayton-Waitsburg football team dug themselves an early hole against Columbia Burbank Friday night, and couldn’t climb out of it, losing the game, 56-6.

After an early safety, CB scored four touchdowns in the first quarter to jump to a 30-0 lead. After each team scored in the second quarter, CB led 36-6 at the half. Chris Andrews got DWs only touchdown of the game on a four-yard run in the second.

DW again had a strong running game, gaining 158 yards on the ground. Andrews led his team with 87 yards on 20 carries. Damien Johnson had four carries for 41 yards. Quarterback Brayden Miller completed two of four pass attempts for 14 yards. Andrews had both receptions.

DW travels to Pasco this weekend for its final game of the season, against Tri-Cities Prep.
