DW can’t dig out of first-quarter hole during senior night game in Waitsburg

WAITSBURG—The Dayton-Waitsburg football team dug themselves an early hole against Columbia Burbank Friday night, and couldn’t climb out of it, losing the game, 56-6.

After an early safety, CB scored four touchdowns in the first quarter to jump to a 30-0 lead. After each team scored in the second quarter, CB led 36-6 at the half. Chris Andrews got DWs only touchdown of the game on a four-yard run in the second.

DW again had a strong running game, gaining 158 yards on the ground. Andrews led his team with 87 yards on 20 carries. Damien Johnson had four carries for 41 yards. Quarterback Brayden M...
