Controls Engineer Dr. Jeffrey Kissel at LIGO/Hanford spoke about a new kind of telescope that can detect the collision of massive bodies in space, through gravitational waves. About 140 people attended Astroblast, the stargazing event sponsored by the Friends of the Dayton Memorial Library, at the Blue Mountain Station, last Friday, to view the night time skies with members of the Tri-Cities Astronomy Club, and to hear Astronomy Instructor Marty Scott of Walla Walla College talk about the Aug. 21 solar eclipse.
