Lady Bulldogs Remain Undefeated with Win at River View

Sydney Andrews sinks 18 in 47-36 win, as Dayton girls remain undefeated

 


FINLEY – The Dayton girls’ basketball team traveled to Finley on Dec. 6, and came away with a 47-36 win. It was the Lady Bulldogs’ third straight win without a loss this season.

Senior forward Sydney Andrews had her best offensive performance of the season, knocking down 18 points, including six for eight from the free throw line.

Dayton maintained a slim lead through the first half, going into intermission up 17-14. A dominant third quarter allowed the Lady ‘Dogs to build a 34-22 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Jenna Phillips added 12 points for Dayton, and Josilyn Fullerton scored 11. Phillips also had 14 rebounds.

Dayton players struggled last year with foul trouble, but in this game, they committed only eight fouls, while Riverview had 20, including two players fouling out.

The Lady Bulldogs were to play Walla Walla Valley Academy Tuesday and travel to Kittitas on Friday. They will play DeSales in Walla Walla on December 20.
