Apr. 12

Vandalism to vehicle reported on E. Richmond Avenue. Trespassing reported on S. Willow Street; civil dispute between neighbors over property line.

Apr. 13

Suspicious black truck and blue Dodge Neon parted on E. Main Street for several hours. Vandalism reported on Lower Hogeye Road; a blue Ford Ranger drove through a field. Deputies contacted the driver, 36-year-old Dayton resident Justin Brady; charges for malicious mischief and criminal trespass were forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.

Apr. 14

Residential burglary under investigation on S. 3rd Street; several items were taken from the home while the resident was not there. Vandalism reported on N. Touchet Road; someone keyed a vehicle.

Apr. 15

Trespass reported on Wagon Road; two males were cutting up a tree and throwing the debris onto private property.

Apr. 16

Suspicious circumstances reported at Country Village Court after a small gray car came to the caller’s residence then followed the caller to the Shell gas station; no further information available and deputies checked the area. Harassment by neighbor reported on E. Jackson Street. Suspicious male in the area of N. 4th Street driving a gray car; caller reported the male had a Direct TV backpack and contacted a neighbor asking if her boyfriend/husband was home. Deputies checked the area but were unable to locate the male.

Apr. 17

Non-injury collision with a deer reported on Highway 12 near milepost 362; no injuries but the passenger side of the vehicle was damaged.

Apr. 18

Noise complaint on E. Tremont Street; juveniles reportedly playing in the street and being loud at midnight. Dayton resident Ashley Thorne, 18, cited on S. 3rd Street on suspicion of driving without a valid operator’s license and defective equipment; vehicle was towed from the scene as no licensed driver could respond. Parking complaint on E. Main Street; vehicle cited for parking in handicapped spot. Dayton resident John Stearns, 58, was arrested on E. Richmond Avenue on suspicion of violating a no-contact order; Stearns is currently being held in the Garfield County Jail for Columbia County pending a preliminary hearing.
