Feb. 24

Suspicious circumstances on S. 3rd Street; caller reported an adult male sleeping in an alcove at the church who spoke with deputies and then left the area. Theft of coins and knives reported at Cameron Court; theft occurred approximately one month ago at a previous address.

Feb. 25

A light was seen in a vacant residence on S. 4th Street; deputies checked the area and everything was secure. Caller reported people at a residence on S. 3rd Street where a search warrant was served earlier in the day; caller was advised that the people were allowed to be there. Harassment by a former friend reported on Pataha Street in Starbuck; investigation is ongoing. Caller on S. Willow Street reported seeing a person wanted by the Department of Corrections; deputies checked the area but were unable to locate the individual.

Feb. 26

Bus driver reported that a vehicle drove by the bus while its red lights were flashing and stop paddle was extended; deputy investigated and cited the violator. Erratic vehicle reported heading eastbound on E. Main Street; deputy located the vehicle parked and unoccupied. Threats reported on W. Main Street; deputies responded and resolved the situation involving one resident of the home threatening another.

Feb. 27

Suspicious vehicle reported near the train bridge on N. Front Street; deputies responded but the vehicles were gone when they arrived. Deputies arrested Marc Nielson, 53, of Starbuck at his home on Pataha Street on suspicion of 2nd degree assault after allegedly striking another adult male, Joe Johnson of Starbuck, with a baseball bat. Nielson was released later the same day on a $50,000 unsecured bond and will make his first court appearance this week. Threats reported on Payne Hollow Road. Car keys reported missing on N. 1st Street. Two juveniles reportedly racing vehicles on S. Cottonwood Street; deputies contacted the drivers and both were cited for speed. Wallet found in a field off Highway 261 near milepost 4. Unwanted subject at home on S. 3rd Street; person left prior to a deputy’s arrival.

Feb. 28

Kennewick man Dameon Casey, 28, was arrested on W. Main Street on warrants out of Benton and Franklin counties. Deputies and Washington State Patrol troopers assisted Fire District 3 with a medical call on E. Dayton Avenue.
