Successful KB Team Invites Public to Practice at The Q

WAITSBURG – The Waitsburg Knowledge Bowl team is performing well and looking forward to the regional meet to take place at Waitsburg High School on Feb. 23. KB advisor Brad Green said he “hopes and expects” his team to once again qualify for the state meet on March 14 in Arlington, Wash.

The team’s last meet was Jan. 8 where three Waitsburg teams competed. “We won handily against other east small schools such as Clarkston, Dayton, DeSales, Prescott and Pomeroy,” said Green. “We’ve been very competitive this year! Emma Philbrook is sharper than ever. The rest of the team comprises such luminaries as Stuart and Robert Walsh, Cade Branson, Korben Duffy, Gillie and Aisy Pope, Julia Taylor, Sam McGowen, and more,” he said.

Green said the team’s next practice will take place at The Q Grill on Friday, Jan. 30 at 7:30 a.m. “The public is invited to come by and watch (or even compete!) and have some coffee,” said Green.

The team will compete next at South Hills Church in the Tri-Cities on Feb. 9.
