The Times - Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley

Board members are: Ross Hamann, Greg Zuger, Marilyn Johnson, Randy Pearson and Christy House. All were present.

*Approved the addition of a bus route on Weller Canyon Road, which will use private property as a turnaround point. Property owners have approved use of their property for the route. The bus driver will determine if the route is too unsafe during inclement weather.

*The district has received two automated external defibrillators (AED's). One is located in the high school cage and the second is in the district office for Preston Hall and the elementary school. The athletic director supervisor will have one available at the field for sporting events.

*The District is required to reimburse the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction $38,708 for what is termed a "failure to maintain effort" because the district had lower special education expenses than in the year prior.

*Enrollment is 269 full time equivalent (FTE),16.12 above the budgeted185.12 FTE.

*Approved 2014-15 district goals.

*Approved transportation supervisor Colter Mohney to purchase a new or low-mileage seven person vehicle to replace a dead vehicle. The Board suggested a Dodge Caravan or Toyota Sienna.

*Approved hire of Dan Nechedom as WP cross country coach.
