DAYTON - Spectators are invited to come and en­joy a new event in Dayton: a Barrel Racers National 4D meet. Barrel races will be held starting at 1 p.m. Sat­urday in the arena at the Co­lumbia County Fairgrounds.

Organizer Lee Ann Lit­teral says that competitors from around the northwest are expected to participate. They will be competing the previous day in Kennewick.

Participants pay an entry fee to race, and then compete for season points as well as cash prizes. A portion of the proceeds will go toward funding midway activities at this year's Columbia County Fair.
