Boardman Takes WP in Extras

 


PRESCOTT - After scoring four runs in the seventh inning to tie the game, the Tigers dropped the April 29 game to the Boardman Spartans, allowing Boardman to make five runs to WP's zero in inning eight. "We played a better game both defensively and offensively. Unfortunately Boardman had more hits and was able to gets more runs across in the 8th inning," said WP Coach Angie

Potts.

In spite of the eventual loss, Potts said it was exciting to see the team tie up the game in the bottom of the 7th inning by producing four runs. "Analise (Salazar) got it started with a single and was moved over on a sacrifice by Heidi Miller. Loegan Harshman followed with a single that scored Analise. Samantha Fedderson hit a single to move Loegan over and Paige (Wood) scored them with a triple. Hannah Grant tied the score by driving in Loegan," said Potts.

Jaidyn and Lexi Brannock were battery. Salazar hit a triple Miller had a double and 2 RBIs, Harshman had 3 singles, a double and a triple with 2 RBIs, Fedderson had a double and 3 RBIs, Wood had a double and triple with 2 RBIs and Grant had 3 singles and 2 RBIs.
