Tigers Scratch Bulldogs

Bulldog Wyatt Frame tries to get on base last Saturday in Prescott in the battle against the WP Tigers.

PRESCOTT -- WP earned a hard-fought win in game one in the eighth inning on Saturday afternoon, 3-2.

An extra inning was initiated when the bases were full in the seventh inning with the score tied, Dayton hit the ball to the Tigers' shortstop and WP got the third out on second base.

"( Bulldog pitcher) Lowden Smith gave the Dayton team a great chance," said, Dayton coach Sal Benavides. "We had some costly errors in the fourth and eighth innings," said Benavides.

Zach Bartlow also had an RBI triple in game one and Kyle Dozier had a two-out double.
