Recently I was encouraged to start an online petition to remove Rush Limbaugh's show from the local radio station KUJ. There are many other petitions like this one across the country. Several stations have dropped his show, including prominent ones, and many of his sponsors have ceased to support him.

Rush Limbaugh has always been an ignorant, meanspirited, hate-mongering shock jock however his recent attack on a young woman spiked national outrage. This woman, a law student by the way, was standing up for the health care and reproductive rights of all women. She was the victim of a defamation of character assault by Rush on his show, in which he referred to her as a slut, prostitute and asked for sex videos of her.

Rush has verbally assaulted and intimidated women, in a vile and vicious manner, just because they have stood up for their rights. His views are full of lies, hate, meanness, slander and abuse. His disgraceful, disgusting, misogynistic rants have no place in a civilized society. It is not entertainment and the public should not be subjected to it. A positive, honest, civil replacement would improve KUJ's reputation and be good for the community.
