BURBANK - Kaitlyn Andrews continued her domination of the javelin events at local meets with a win at the Columbia- Burbank track and field meet last week here. Her throw of 109 feet was far off her best mark, but it was enough to win the event. RITZVILLE - Several members of the WP track team traveled to Ritzville for the Undeberg Invitational Meet Saturday, where more than 30 teams competed. The highlight for WP was a win by Owen Lanning in the Triple Jump, with a mark of 41 feet, 0.5 inches. "He did it on his last jump and that was exciting," said WP Coach Jeff Bartlow. BENTON CITY - The WP Cardinal track team traveled to Kiona Benton High School here last week to compete against four division 1A teams. Several athletes improved their best times here. DAYTON - They held a track and field meet in Dayton last week, but a majority of Dayton's competitors were unavailable. "Several of our team members left for FBLA State," said Coach Dan Nechodom, "so we were down quite a lot in numbers, and had others that needed to step out of events for other reasons." PRESCOTT - The Waitsburg-Prescott Tigers baseball team put up six big runs in the third inning in their home game against Pomeroy on their way to a dominating 11-1 win on Tuesday, April 25. WAITSBURG - The Matbirds have been busy the last two weekends - first hosting a Little Guy Wrestling Tournament in Waitsburg on April 5, then heading to the State Tournament in Spokane on April 12.
