Defensive miscues allowed Gar-Pal to pick up a quick first-inning run, but pitcher Talen Larsen then held G-P scoreless through the sixth, giving up just five hits.     PRESCOTT – The Waitsburg-Prescott girls' softball team dropped two one-run games to Garfield-Palouse on Saturday, 17-16 and 9-8. In Game 1, the Lady Tigers jumped on the Vikings with 12 runs in the first inning and four more in the second. But it wouldn't be enough, as Gar-Pal fought back, taking the lead with six runs in the seventh inning. For the game, WP had 18 hits and gave up 15.     PRESCOTT – The Waitsburg-Prescott baseball team dropped two games at home on Thursday to Tri-Cities Prep, 7-6 and 3-1. They followed a win against Riverside on April 28, 16-1. In game one Thursday, the cardinals were trailing 6-2 going into the seventh and final regulation inning. A four-run rally tied the score and sent the game into extra innings.     ASOTIN – The Dayton Bulldogs' softball team demolished the Asotin Panthers in Game 1 of Saturday's double-header here, 14-2.     LEWISTON – The Waitsburg-Prescott track and field team sent ten athletes to the Meet of Champions here on April 30. The meet was an invitational, based on athletes' performances in earlier meets this season. WP sophomore Landon Callas significantly reduced his personal record times in both the 110 and 300 meter hurdle events. He was 8th in the 300 and 11th in the 110.     LEWISTON – Dayton senior Kaitlyn Andrews competed in three events at the Meet of Champions in Lewiston April 30. She won the long jump, with a leap of 16 feet, 4 inches. Andrews also placed 4th in the triple jump and 5th in the 100 meter run. Due to state regulations, Andrews’ signature event, the javelin, is not held at meets in Idaho.
