POMEROY - Following a win against Prescott on Fri., Dec. 4, the Lady Cards fell hard in an away game against the Pomeroy Pirates on Sat., Dec. 5. The Pirates took the lead from the beginning and never let up, ending the game with a win of 46-19. High scorers for the Cardinals were juniors Taylor Hays and Analisea Araya, with five points each. POMEROY – The Waitsburg boys’ basketball team struggled Saturday night against a fine-tuned Pomeroy attack, and came up short, 70-51. The Pirates drained ten three-pointers during the game, including several at key moments in the fourth quarter to put the game away. DAYTON – Administrators from Dayton and Waitsburg schools met last week to discuss the possibility of fielding combined athletic teams for some sports as early as next year.
