    CHENEY – Lewis-Clark State College freshman Owen Lanning, son of Mark and Joanna Lanning, of Waitsburg, made top scores in the men's track and field indoor heptathlon – a seven-event competition – at the Eastern Washington University Candy Cane Invitational in Cheney on Dec. 5.     COLFAX – The Dayton boys’ basketball team went on the road on Dec. 22 and were handed a lopsided defeat by a tough Colfax squad, 61-36. The loss put Dayton’s record at 2-5 going into the holiday break. Nearly all of the Bulldog scoring came from two players: Ben Kleck, with 17 points, and Zach Waggoner with 13.
