    WAITSBURG – Recent Waitsburg High graduate and baseball star Talen Larsen has been invited to travel to the Dominican Republic with WSU Baseball Coach Michael Naughton. Larsen will join 14 other players the week of July 28 to August 3. They will work with a small group of players, Dominican coaches and a Division I baseball coach, improving their skills.     WAITSBURG – Three Waitsburg High baseball players are currently playing summer baseball in Walla Walla. Recent graduate Talen Larsen is playing with the Walla Walla Bears this summer. The Bears are a 19-up independent travel team. They will have played 55 games from May through July. The team is coached by Brian Kitamura and is made up of college students and graduating high school seniors.   • Kids' Basketball Camp Starts This Week

    WAITSBURG - The Waitsburg School District is offering a free four-day kids basketball camp this week and next week. The Camp will be held at the Waitsburg High School gymnasium Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday.     CHENEY – The Waitsburg-Prescott boys' track team finished a strong sixth in the 2B Division at the Washington State track and field final meet at Eastern Washington University last weekend.     AKIMA – In their second game in the state softball tournament Friday afternoon, the Dayton girls' softball team faced eventual champion Adna, and felt like they hit a brick wall.
