PRESCOTT – The Waitsburg-Prescott baseball team hosted Columbia (Burbank) Tuesday for what turned out to be two lopsided games – a win and a loss. RITZVILLE – WP and Dayton track athletes traveled here Saturday to take part in the 10th annual Undeberg Invitational Track Meet, held at Lind-Ritzville High School. They competed against other athletes from nearly forty high schools around Washington. WPs Emily Adams had a strong meet, finishing fourth in the 3200 meter run and 10th in the 1600. PASCO – In a field of more than 2,000 athletes from 100-plus northwest high schools, four Touchet Valley athletes gave strong performances Saturday at the Pasco Invite track and field meet. GARFIELD – The Dayton girls’ softball team showed the offense they’re capable of, as they swept Garfield-Palouse/Oakesdale here Saturday. The Lady Bulldogs scored 29 runs on 20 hits, including three home runs in the first game. In game 1, pitcher Savannah McFarland gave up three runs on four hits for the win. WAITSBURG – The 19th annual Tour of Walla Walla cycling stage race will begin early Friday in Waitsburg. More than 100 professional and amateur cyclists from throughout the northwest are expected to take part.
