Behind the scenes, progress has been continuing inside and outside the Waitsburg Weller Library since the new concrete floor was installed. WAITSBURG-The town seemed unusually quiet this fall, and community members began to question whether or not annual holiday festivities would be happening. Local residents began approaching The Times wondering about holiday favorites, including Hometown Christmas and the Lighted Parade. WAITSBURG–The leaf bin is back. It is located at the city shop and open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. WAITSBURG—A section of Millrace Road, starting at the north end of Main Street, will be closed to traffic for the foreseeable future. Colbert Construction broke ground on Monday, September 13, beginning work on the Millrace Grade Project. WAITSBURG-A small standing wheat fire was started in the early hours of the morning on July 31. According to the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office, Lonnie R. Marick was riding his four-wheeler in a wheat field to "blow off steam" after being upset. The four-wheeler caught on fire, and Marick was unable to put it out.
