WAITSBURG-Times reader Wayde Morris struck and killed a juvenile cougar at approximately 9:15 p.m. on the evening of Sun., Aug. 18. "I was traveling south on Middle Waitsburg Road towards Walla Walla when she suddenly crossed the road. I struck the cougar and pulled over. She was killed instantly," Morris told The Times. Review of Board Activities The board passed a levy resolution in time for the Aug. 6 levy deadline. The board is in the very early stages of seeking out a potential Parks and Rec. employee for 2020 at approximately five hours per week. The board has received a go-ahead from the City to install dog poo bag dispensers in the park and will begin working on that soon. The July 13 Park and Rec. Day went fairly well. WAITSBURG-Waitsburg's Patriot's Parade and community potluck is a nearly decade-old tradition, but many may not know how it originated. As the story goes, the whole thing began with a dare.
