WAITSBURG – Fire destroyed a shop and badly damaged an adjacent home in Waitsburg early Saturday morning. The fire is believed to have originated at the wood stove in the shop. The home and shop are owned by City of Waitsburg Public Works Director Jim Lynch and his wife Becky. DAYTON--Warmer, milder weather is going to allow county crews to start spring maintenance, earlier than usual, said Public Works Director Andrew Woods at last week’s meeting of the Columbia County Commissioners. The center, which provides food and resources for residents in Waitsburg and Prescott school districts, is open from 2-4 each Thursday.
