At 2:00 a.m. in Joan Helm's home, the Waitsburg's Royal 'night-owls' gather around the television to watch the Royal Wedding ceremony of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Waitsburg PE teacher Jeff Bartlow shows his ninth-grade students how to practice their bicycle skills on the tennis court as part of a bike safety unit. The school recently received a grant to purchase 30 bicycles for safety instruction to grades 5-8 this fall.

Clean Up Day in Waitsburg was assisted greatly by six inmates from the Walla Walla County Jail, who joined local volunteers Skip Carpenter, Jim Burres, Cecil Webber and Ivan Keve, and the Waitsburg City Crew, in hauling 30-plus loads of burnable waste from people's yards. Carpenter donated his tractor-loader and a truck, and Burres also gave the use of one of his farm trucks.
Holly Robinson, taking the baton from fellow Cardinal Haly Ingle, were on the relay team with Kate Ahmann and Jessica Huxoll that placed second in 4x200.
Robert White kept his pace up and moved into first position to win the 3,200 run in 12:16.10.
Gary Timms arches in the air to make the most of this long jump attempt, an event he placed second with a 17-2 effort.

[Photo Caption] Graduation for the Waitsburg High School class of 1976 will take place Friday night, May 28, in the high school auditorium. Highest honor speaker for the class is Robin Hutsell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hutsell. Loyal Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Baker, has been selected as honor speaker of the class.

Bob Patton exhibited the grand champion Hereford of the Junior Livestock Show in Spokane this week.
Kenneth Smith located a den of five coyote puppies this month near the Harold Price farm and dug 20 feet into the ground to "bring them out alive."
Jimmy Tuttle celebrated his fourth birthday Saturday when a group of little friends were his guests for ice cream, birthday cake and favors.

Wednesday evening about forty-five of the Freshmen and Sophomores hied themselves to Rose Grove above Dayton for a most enjoyable picnic. They were accompanied by Frank Zuger, Mrs. Kruchek, Mrs. Fullerton, Mr. Pollard, Mrs. Harris and Ms. Sutton.
Clarence Eaton, Chas. Neace and A. C. Garner left Tuesday morning for the Canadian Rockies where they will spend a few days on a bear hunt.
Mr. and Mrs. George Samuel, in company with Dayton friends, spent Sunday at Palouse Falls. They report the falls a beauty spot this time of the year

A large and well-built barn of C. A. Hales situated on Mr. Hales place a mile east of the city was burned to the ground last Sunday afternoon between one and two o'clock. A young son of Mr. Hales set fire to the structure by building a fire in the barn for fun.
Why cook over a hot stove on Sundays when, for 25 cents, you can get an excellent dinner at the new hotel just opened by Mrs. D. L. Cox. If there are but two or three in a family, you can get dinner cheaper at this first-class hotel than if you cooked it yourself.
The Waitsburg Military Band gave another of its popular open-air concerts on Main Street last Saturday afternoon. The day was very pleasant, and a large crowd was on the street.
