Tim Reeves is running for Walla Walla County Auditor

WALLA WALLA - Walla Walla resident Tim Reeves is running for the Walla Walla County Auditor seat in this year's election. Reeves, a Democrat, announced his run in a press release on Monday, April 27.

The county auditor is responsible for assembling the county's budget, ensuring the accuracy of records, and overseeing the integrity of the county's election process.

Reeves follows the County Commissioners' meetings and has noted their increasing frustration with the lack of timely, accurate, and detailed reporting of the county's expenses. Reeves said this affects the Commissioners' ability to do their work and raises concern for the future health of the county. Something is broken in the Auditor's Office, he said, and it's not the skilled and dedicated staff.

As an economist, corporate facilitator, and finance consultant, Reeves has grown teams at companies including Boeing and Microsoft, led large organizations through culture and process change.

Reeves serves on the Walla Walla Parks, Recreation, and Urban Forestry Advisory Board and the Walla Walla Arts Collaborative Board. He recently participated in the Civics Academy and the Police Citizens Academy programs.

He said he was inspired by those who step up to lead in our community. Reeves said he believes in the county's future and the role of the County Auditor.

"I believe every penny counts, every record counts, and every vote counts," Reeves said. "You deserve to know that they are not at risk. I look forward to serving our community as the County Auditor."

Reeves joins Greg Tompkins and current auditor Sheryl Park in seeking the position. All three have registered with the Washington State Public Disclosure Commission, which reports campaign finances and enforces campaign finance and disclosure laws.
