Registration is now open
WALLA WALLA - Blue Mountain Humane Society has opened registration for Dog Jog 2026, its annual community walk and run fundraiser for shelter pets in the Walla Walla Valley. This year's event will take place on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Walla Walla Community College Athletic Field Parking Lot.
Dog Jog is a family-friendly 5K fun run and walk that brings together runners, walkers, dogs, and animal lovers in support of homeless pet care. Participants can run or walk with their dogs, form fundraising teams with friends or coworkers, or simply enjoy a morning outdoors while helping animals in need. Attendees can also visit booths hosted by local sponsors and learn more about pet support resources available throughout the valley.
The goal for Dog Jog 2026 is to raise $40,000 to support Blue Mountain Humane Society's work providing shelter, veterinary care, adoption services, and community pet support programs for animals across the Walla Walla Valley.
In addition to participating on event day, supporters are encouraged to create personal or team fundraising pages to help expand the event's impact. Community fundraisers can win prizes by inviting friends, family, and coworkers to support their goal and help more pets receive the care they need while waiting for loving homes.
"Dog Jog is one of our favorite ways to bring the community together for animals," said Dian Ver Valen, CEO of Blue Mountain Humane Society. "Every step taken and every dollar raised helps pets receive the care and second chances they deserve."
Event day activities begin when the Barking Lot opens at 8:30 a.m. Runners and walkers start at 9 a.m.
Registration is $28 for adults, $15 for youth ages 13–17, and free for children 12 and under. Paid registrations include an optional event T-shirt. Participants should register by May 4 to guarantee their shirt.
