Darlene Ann Norman

Darlene Ann Norman, 86, of Esmond, North Dakota, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at The Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, N.D.

Darlene Ann Peck was born on July 22, 1939, in Bottineau, N.D., the daughter of Lyle and Louise (Lauckner) Peck. She graduated from Bottineau High School and obtained her teacher's certificate. On June 11, 1961, she was united in marriage to James Walter Norman in Bottineau, N.D. The couple resided in Walla Walla, Wash., for a year. In 1962, they moved to Prescott, Wash. Walter and Darlene retired in 2000 and moved to Esmond, N.D., where they purchased their forever home.

Darlene started doing family genealogy research in college and continued throughout her life. It brought her great joy to be able to visit with her relatives, allowing her to be closer to her family. Darlene loved plants and flowers, especially irises, of which she had many different colors.

She is survived by her daughters, Janelle Meier of Waitsburg, Wash. and Leslie Beckman (Robert) of Prescott, Wash.; five grandchildren; Ryan Meier Sr. of Waitsburg, Wash., Jessica Meier of Baker City, Ore., Clayton Beckman (Jessica) of Prescott, Wash., Cody Beckman (Heidi) Milton-Freewater, Ore., and Amanda Beckman of Prescott, Wash.; great-grandchildren: Ryan Meier Jr, Boston Lager, Raven Beckman, Violet Smith, Juca Beckman, Kolton Dufar, Silas Dufar, Mabel Beckman and LillyAnn Beckman; brother, Ron Peck (Toni) of Bottineau, N.D.; sister, Linda Brown (Allen) of Des Lacs, N.D.; sister-in-law, Charlotte Peck of Gresham, Ore and Helen Johnson of Fargo, N.D.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Lyle Peck Jr.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., at Ivy Cemetery in Prescott, Wash.
