YOGA is For All Bodies

WAITSBURG — Susan Wildey became first interested in yoga in her youth.  About five years ago, she got back into yoga to find peace and inner calm.

Wildey met the requirement of two hundred class hours and obtained her yoga teaching certificate through a studio in Montana. This past summer, she started her business, Stone and Sky Yoga.

“Yoga is less about fitness and more about an inward journey,” said Wildey.

Wildey works in the Business Office for the Prescott School District and teaches yoga classes in the evenings.

In January, Wildey will offer classes including Hatha, Vinyasa/Yin, and restorative yoga at Skyrocket Church in Prescott and Waitsburg Town Hall in Waitsburg. Yoga mats and props are included, but attendees are welcome to bring their own mats.

Participants at a recent class included Waitsburg residents who were thankful to have a local option for yoga.

One yoga participant said, “It is great to have a local spot to get healthy.  It is good to take an hour for my physical and mental health. I feel better physically with more energy.”

With a selection of classes, Wildley offers a mindful yoga practice that balances groundedness (stone) with expansive awareness (sky), emphasizing breath, presence, and natural connection for all levels.
