At the Liberty:"Zootopia 2"

DAYTON — In Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia 2,” detectives Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman) find themselves on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who arrives in Zootopia and turns the animal metropolis upside down. To crack the case, Judy and Nick must go undercover, where their growing partnership is tested like never before.  Rated PG for action/violence and rude humor and has a runtime of 108 minutes.

Rotten Tomatoes critics and audiences agreed that “Zootopia 2” is a thoughtful movie the whole family can enjoy.  The critics gave the film a 91% rating, noting that it cleverly layers a thoughtful message onto a crackerjack caper and solidifies Judy Hopps and Nick Wild as one of the most endearing buddy pairings.

An audience member thought that “in every way where it matters, ‘Zootopia 2’ delivers a boldly heartfelt statement with stunning animation to fill every scene with something to marvel at.”

The theater will be hosting the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West - Clarinet Quartet on Saturday, January 17, at 3 p.m. This is a free concert brought to The Liberty as part of the Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival.

Tickets are free but must be reserved at https://BANDOFTHEGOLDENWESTCLARINETQUARTET.eventbrite.com.  The quartet will perform songs including “America” from the musical “West Side Story,” “United States Anthem,” and an Armed Services Medley.

The 2026 Variety Show, “Hello.  My name is…,” will feature songs and skits on the theme of “names.” It will include songs “Hey Jude,” “Billie Jean,” and “Cecilia,” to name a few. Information night is January 7 at 6 p.m., with auditions on January 8 and 10. Rehearsals begin February 2. Performances this year are on April 17-19 and April 24-26.

Upcoming movies are “Zootopia 2” on Jan. 2 to 6 and “”Nuremberg” on Jan. 9 to 13.
