PENDLETON—Christmas tree permits are now available at Forest offices, several local businesses, and online by searching “Umatilla National Forest Tree Permits” at http://www.recreation.gov.
Christmas tree permits purchased online must be printed to be valid and can only be used on Umatilla National Forest lands. Christmas tree permits cost $5 each and are limited to one per household. An additional $2.50 fee is charged for permits purchased online.
Christmas tree permits are also available at Umatilla National Forest offices and local businesses, including Sportsman’s Warehouse in Walla Walla and The General Store in Dayton.
Fourth graders with an Every Kid Outdoors pass are eligible for a free Christmas tree permit.
