October 5, 1976 – September 29, 2025
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Rene Lynn Goth Brown, who left this world peacefully on Monday, surrounded by love. She was born on October 5, 1976, to Perry Michael Goth Sr. and Vivian Bell Goth in Ventura, California. Her older brother Perry Michael Goth Jr was born in 1973.
Rene graduated from Buena High School in Ventura, California, in 1994. She participated in all athletics, especially volleyball. She later attended California State University, Northridge, on a full volleyball scholarship, where she graduated in 1999 with a degree in childhood education.
She later moved to San Diego and worked in Human Relations for the University of California, San Diego. While in San Diego, she met the love of her life, Bodie Brown, while he was serving in the Navy. They married and, from this union, had their only son, Dylan Jay Brown, who was her greatest joy.
In 2017, the family moved to Dayton, Washington, becoming a very special part of this community.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished friend whose smile could light up any room.
Rene had a deep love for sports, whether she was cheering from the stands or watching from home; her passion and competitive spirit always shone through. She lived life with heart, strength, and kindness, touching the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Mike Goth, and mother, Vivian Goth. She is survived by her husband, Bodie Brown; her son, Dylan Brown; her mother-in-law, Anita Brown; her sister-in-law, Paula Montoya; her brother, Mike Goth of Texas; nephew, Michael Edward Goth of California; uncle, Paul Albert Bell of Virginia; uncle, Tom Goth of Ohio; and aunt, Joan Goth of Oklahoma.
The family greatly thanks Linda Warner, Paula Montoya, and Jessie Montoya for their devotion to Rene in her final months.
There will be no services as per Rene's request; a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
Those who knew Rene will always remember her radiant smile, her sense of humor, and her ability to make others feel seen and loved. She gave her best to those around her - her family, her friends, and her community - and her legacy of love will continue to live on in all who were blessed by her presence.
