Parks & Rec District Levy on Nov. ballot

WAITSBURG - The district has approved and submitted a resolution to Walla Walla County, seeking 60 cents per $1,000 in assessed property value, and this proposal will appear on the November ballot.

The Waitsburg Parks and Recreation District and Friends of the Waitsburg Pool (a project of Rural Youth Enrichment Services) are working to get a new Waitsburg pool shovel-ready, and passing a levy to build and maintain the pool for years to come is the next step. Commissioners in January voted to move forward with the north pool site, located off Main Street near the Waitsburg Dog Park and Old Mill site.
