Gaggle of Gagnons honored at Fall Festival

The Waitsburg Historical Society hosted its annual Fall Festival on Sunday, September 21. Cooler weather may have kept some visitors home; those who came were hungry. The Lions Club sold more bison burgers than last year, selling out.

Before the rain began, the Historical Society honored the Gagnon Family as Pioneers of the Year. Almost the entire audience stood after family members were invited to the front of the stage.

Margie Gagnon Benson and her sister Kathy Gagnon Greenwell accepted the honor on behalf of the family. The family was represented by one of the largest turnouts in the festival's history

There were plenty of places to stay out of the rain, including the Wilson-Phillips and Bruce houses. Visitors enjoyed a vintage fashion show and music courtesy of TVAMP and Kate Hockersmith.

A good crowd is enjoying pie, ice cream, burgers, and bluegrass.

The historical society thanked the community for its support to keep the history of Waitsburg alive and well.
