At the Liberty:"The Manhattan Short Film Festival"

DAYTON — Discover your inner film critic by casting your vote for Best Film and Best Actor in the 28th Annual “Manhattan Short Film Festival.” The 2025 festival presents an international line-up of ten short films that explore a wide range of relevant topics for today.

Have a look at dramatic and comic takes on migration, reconciliation, housing prices, parenthood, and the price of silence, not to mention the trials and tribulations of growing into adulthood, especially when fantastical and dangerous griffins fly overhead and you have an OMG murderous mother. And what is it about golf anyway?

The Liberty Theater is the only theater or venue to host this unique event in Eastern Washington. If you have ever watched an award show and thought “I wouldn’t have voted for that film,” then this is your chance to have your vote count. “The Manhattan Short Film Festival” screens ten short films at each showing. The runtime is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes with an intermission. After the screening, the Liberty Theater audience will fill out their ballots and join worldwide audiences in choosing the 2025 Manhattan Short Winners.

Enjoy a can of Rainier while watching some of the Pacific Northwest’s quirkiest advertising. Directed and edited by Isaac Olsen and produced by the Peterson brothers.

Upcoming movies: “Manhattan Short Film Festival” on Sept. 26 – 30, “The Senior” on Oct. 3 –7, and “A Beer Odyssey (Rainier Beer Movie)” on October 10 – 14.
