Weller Library director visits Waitsburg elementary school Classes

WAITSBURG - September is the American Library Association's Library Card Sign-up Month. The theme "One Card, Endless Possibilities" is a reminder that signing up for a library card can be the first step toward academic achievement and lifelong learning.

Weller Public Library Director Sarah Roberts visited Waitsburg Elementary classes on Monday, September 8, to show students how library cards can give them access to books, ebooks, audiobooks, games, and other resources. Roberts also helped new students, or those who have not yet received a public library card, to sign up. All Waitsburg residents, including school employees and students, can obtain a free library card.

Roberts brought a large variety of books for every student at Waitsburg Elementary to choose a free book, compliments of the Waitsburg Weller Library Board of Trustees. Roberts also distributed fall calendars showing all the fun activities that the library offers.

The Weller Public Library is committed to providing assistance, information, and support through school outreach programs. Roberts has led efforts to bring educational and creative programs to the children of Waitsburg through its public library.
