DAYTON - The 2025 Columbia County Fair was held September 4 through 6 at Dayton's fairgrounds with the theme "Celebrating Columbia County - 150 years of Heritage and Heart."
The fair hostesses were Kayla Mikesell and Sarah Wilson.
The fair opened with a flag opening ceremony on Thursday morning. Breakfast was included with the general gate admission. Attendees spent the day enjoying live entertainment, livestock judging, and a large variety of craft, art, and food booths.
On Friday, events included mutton busting and a rodeo.
The fair hosted the fan-favorite demo derby and the livestock sale. The Farmers' Olympics and ice cream social wrapped up the county fair on Sunday.
The following Waitsburg students earned the following FFA awards:
Sarah Daves: Champion Market Lamb, Champion Breeding Ewe, Reserve Champion Sheep Showmanship, and Reserve Champion Record Book.
Chasity Paddock: Champion Market Goat and Champion Goat Showmanship
Sara Wilson: Reserve Champion Market Goat, Champion Poultry Fitting and Showing, Champion Poultry Project, and Reserve Champion Goat Showmanship
Katy Allen: Champion Market Hog
Shaunna Hilton- Champion Record Book
Emerson Underwood: Reserve Market Hog
Kayla Kuykendall: Reserve Champion Fr/So Swine Showmanship
Carter Barron: Champion Fr/So Swine Showmanship and High Individual Livestock Judging
