DAYTON —“Freakier Friday” is a sequel to the 2003 film with a multigenerational twist starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan. In the film, Curtis and Lohan reprise their roles as Tess and Anna Coleman. The story picks up years after their identity crisis. Tess and Anna discover lightning can strike twice.

The Rotten Tomato audience gave “Freakier Friday” a 92% rating, saying it is steeped in nostalgia and bursting with good, clean fun. The critics’ consensus was that Lohan and Curtis slip back into roles that fit like matched gloves—rated PG for thematic elements, rude humor, language, and some suggestive references with a runtime of 111 minutes.

The Liberty Theater is hosting a Picnic Tea “Downton Abbey” style on Sunday, September 14 at 1:30 p.m. at The Liberty Theater. Enjoy an afternoon of 1930s savories, sweets, and tea. There will be finger sandwiches and scones with clotted cream. Tickets for the special event are $25 and limited to 60 guests. It includes the Picnic Tea & admission to the movie “Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale”, at 3 p.m. Tickets will be available on Friday, August 29, at libertytheater.org or at our box office on Tuesday. & Friday from 2-5 or call (509) 382-1380.
