DAYTON — Set in a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” introduces Marvel’s First Family—Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.

The Rotten Tomatoes audience rates “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” an enthusiastic 91% saying they loved the retro vibe, believable family dynamic, and finally did Galactus right. The critics’ rating is 86% with a consensus that “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” leaves the audience feeling good and offers an inspiring, idyllic story with a noncynical sincerity needed in our world now. Rated PG-13 for action/violence and some language, and has a runtime of 115 minutes.

Chris Fascione’s “Juggling Funny Stories” on August 15 will have the audience laughing out loud as family entertainer Chris Fascione brings children’s stories to life with his high-spirited and innovative performance. Full of energy, humor, and imagination, Chris creates colorful characters through his unique combination of acting, storytelling, comedy, and juggling. A Storytelling World Award winner, Chris brings out the kid in everyone, as adults and children have fun participating in the show. Admission is free for the show on Friday, August 15, at 10:30 am.
