At the Liberty:"Jurassic World: Rebirth"

DAYTON — Five years after the events in “Jurassic World Dominion,” Earth’s climate has proven inhospitable to dinosaurs.  Those that have survived live in isolated areas along the equator, where the tropical biosphere resembles the prehistoric climate where they thrived.

The three largest of the surviving creatures hold the key to developing a drug that could bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.  The cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali, and Rupert Friend.

After being in the theater for several weeks, the audience at Rotten Tomatoes said “Jurassic World: Rebirth” was “equal parts comforting and terrifying, returning to the beloved Jurassic World is a thrill, and while predictable, the movie jump-starts the franchise with a “dino-mite” time at the movies.”

The comments from RT critics were, “going back to basics with rip-roaring set pieces and fossilized clichés, “Jurassic World: Rebirth” doesn’t evolve thisprehistoric franchise but does restore some of its most reliable DNA.” Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence/action, bloody images, some suggestive references, language, and a drug reference.  Runtime: 133 minutes.

The theater’s Summer Kids’ Movie Series will be showing “Storks” on Friday, July 25, at 1 p.m., and as always, the admission is free. Additionally, the theater offers a special low price for a small soda or water, along with a small popcorn with real butter, for only $2.
