"Not the end of the past, but the beginning of the future"
WAITSBURG - The 129th Annual Waitsburg High School Commencement took place on Friday, June 7, in the high school gymnasium.
Twenty-three students from the Class of 2025 walked to the traditional "Pomp & Circumstance" graduation march. The WHS band played the "Star-Spangled Banner," followed by an opening message from Superintendent Carol Clarke.
Valedictorian Cedar Stegall and Salutatorian Lucas VanHoose delivered their speeches to their class and families.
Clarke presented Madison Kaehler with the Waitsburg P.E.O. Chapter's Citizenship Award. Principal Joe Wirtzberger presented scholarships, followed by the presentation of valedictorian and salutatorian.
Waitsburg School Board Member Julie Karl presented diplomas to graduates as they were called up to the podium by Class Secretary Kaydance Tiner.
After the recessional, graduates joined their family and friends on the front lawn of the high school before moving to the school's "cage" to enjoy cake and refreshments.
