LYONS FERRY - Washington State Parks has closed the swim beach at Lyons Ferry State Park due to the presence of blue-green algae. Algae is at its worst between September and October, according to the state health department. The closure includes swimming, water skiing, and other water sports.
The park service warns pet owners to not let animals drink the water as the algae is toxic to pets and people.
