Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
DAYTON-Numerous cars dragged the "gut" Friday night as car enthusiasts walked the streets to watch the cars zoom by. Vendors were available for food and drinks, and Main Street businesses welcomed patrons throughout the evening. The band Cruz Control played on the courthouse lawn as people danced and little kids practiced their hula hoop skills.
Saturday was the Show 'n Shine where vehicles of all types and years lined Main Street. Visitors and car enthusiasts were able to see everything up close and meet the owners who were presenting their pride and joys.
The Outlaw Lawn Dragster races also took place downtown Saturday morning. The last event of the day was Saturday night's demo derby at the fairgrounds. In between, visitors enjoyed "Smokey and the Bandit" at the Liberty, a beer garden at the fairgrounds, clowns, and the Drag Race, now renamed the "Crazy Costume" Race.
