TVAMP offers music classes for all ages

Ronan Hockersmith is excited about Toddler-Grass! Class, he is preparing by practicing his rhythm, dance movements, and learning the difference between a banjo and a fiddle.

WAITSBURG-This summer, Kate Hockersmith has opened a teaching and practice studio for Touchet Valley Acoustic Music Project (TVAMP). The space at 141 Main Street in Waitsburg allows Hockersmith to provide a dedicated space for an instrument lending library, workspace, and inspiring space for instruction.

Classes scheduled include:

Beginning Banjo. for adults and teens taught by Carrie Hendrix.

Mondays from June 26 through July 31 at 7 p.m. $100

Bluegrass Kids, taught by Hockersmith.

Wednesdays at 3:30, beginning July 5. Free

This free hour-long class has been offered since 2010; new students must register before attending.

Toddler Grass! Children ages 2 to 4, accompanied by parents.

Four Wednesdays, July 5, 12, 19, and 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Toddler-Grass! will focus on rhythm and fun with music.
