School Sports Update

 


HS Track Sub-District meet

DW COMBINE—The DW high school track team participated in sub-districts on May 9 at River View High School.

Track athletes from Walla Walla Valley, Mabton, Columbia-Burbank, and River View competed to finish in the top four in track and the top eight in field events to qualify for the district track meet.

Rueben Yutzy qualified to compete in three events, the 100-meters, shot put, and high jump.

Hollingsworth – 400-meters and high jump

Rennaker – high jump and triple jump

Walters – javelin and high jump

Hudson Reser – javelin

Makenna Barron – high jump

Teegan Kenney – long jump

Kaydance Tiner – discus

Blake French – triple jump

DW Softball wrap up regular season

DW COMBINE—The combine recognized three seniors and their families on their last home game Tuesday, May 9. The DW softball team won both games of the doubleheader against Tri-Cities Prep.


The Wolfpack pulled out a one-run win in the first game, 18-17, and won the second game, 17-7.

Senior Hendrix Groom ended the day with six hits for the Wolfpack. Senior Shaylah King had three hits, and senior Maddi Gallardo pitched the first game and contributed with one hit.

On Friday, May 12, the Wolfpack split a doubleheader with Columbia Burbank at Burbank in their last regular season games.

The Coyotes won the first game 4-3. Maddi Gallardo pitched the game, and Lila Hutchens led the team with two hits. Peyton Struckmeier, King, Hendrix, and Marissa Tupling had single hits for DW.


DW won the second game with a score of 11-8. Kameryn Tupling pitched, Hutchens had four hits, Struckmeier had three hits, and Groom and Alyssa Segraves had two hits each to lead the offense.
