WAITSBURG—Two representatives from the Walla Walla YMCA, knowledgeable in pool planning and grants, will lead a community forum on the needs for a future swimming pool in Waitsburg. The community event will take place on Thursday, January 26, in the Waitsburg Elementary School library at 6:30 p.m.

After the YMCA presentation, attendees will be asked to prioritize their desired amenities for a new pool.

The Friends of the Pool, a project of RYES, has gathered donations to match a generous $10,000 anonymous donation. The Parks & Recreation board members are looking for a site for the pool and will get an architect design after the land is acquired and the community has a chance to give input.

The Friends of the Pool and the Waitsburg Parks and Recreation board appreciate all the support shown by the community.
