DW Golf

Wednesday March 23, the golf team played at the Wine Valley Golf Course. It was a 9 holes par 36 course. Caleb Barron and Cayle Davis shot 53 to lead DW players. Theo Anderson was close behind with 56.

Wine Valley is a tough course for any golfer, particularly beginners. Caleb, Cayle and Theo played steady golf, not allowing themselves to get in trouble. The rest are learning course management and really showed improvement throughout the round.

"Claudia Benavides made some outstanding shots today," stated Coach McGhan.

The majority of the DW team has only been golfing for three weeks and are finding that golfing on different courses in successive days present a new set of challenges.

DW Softball

The DW softball team played a doubleheader at Cle Elum on Saturday, March 26. Coach Carly Benavides stated that the team struggled with pitching in the first game as well as making a few fielding errors. Wolfpack lost the game 15-0 with Megan Forney getting the only hit for DW. Kylee Henry and Lila Hutchens shared pitching duties.

DW had a great start in the second game until pitcher Kameryn Tupling got hurt in the 4th inning. Tupling getting hurt kind of took the wind out of our sails, reported the coach. Maddy Gallardo relieved Tupling at pitching in the 5th inning. The Wolfpack had four hits in the game with Forney having two hits.

Track

Coach Nechodom commented that it was a tough meet at Clarkston on Wednesday, March 23. There were several members out for various reasons, and others running at less than 100%, but he did see some improved form in the runners. Tristan Rennaker was pleased with his improvement in his 100-meter dash time, and this was after they'd run the heat again because of a timing malfunction. There were nine schools competing in the meet that saw Alex Dahlby place 6th in the men’s 400-meter dash and Marion Duncan placed 4th in the women’s 400 meters.

The DW track team travels to Riverview on Thursday, March 31, and goes to Richland on Saturday, April 2.

Baseball

Cle Elum-Roslyn Warriors defeated Dayton/Waitsburg Wolfpack baseball team 21-0 on Saturday, March 26 in Cle Elum. The Wolfpack struggled to contain the high-powered offense of the Warriors, stated Coach Crenshaw.

Jasper Morrow and Evan Allen had the only two hits for DW and Levi Boudrieau and Klint Kuykendall shared pitching duties.
